History
Oana and Brent founded Detecht in 2018 to provide services nationwide in support of the blasting and construction industries. Their diverse backgrounds in mining, civil, and mechanical engineering, all with a focus on explosives, allows them to tackle any challenging project. In addition to compliance monitoring, Detecht is always looking for applied research opportunites to utilize specialized instrumentation and further industry science.

President
Oana Meins
Originally from Romania, Oana has been working in the explosives industry for 11 years and completed a Master’s of Science degree from New Mexico Tech. Her thesis research involved detailed study of underwater blast pressures, data acquisition systems, sample rate effects, and sensor technology. She previously worked as an instrumentation technician at Aimone-Martin Associates during her graduate studies and was involved in numerous blasting projects in the construction and mining industries. She worked as a research associate at AXPRO, Colorado School of Mines conducting explosives research for the oil/gas and mining industries and for government agencies in the topics of high-speed imaging, overpressure measurements, ground vibrations, and energetic materials testing. She interned in mining engineering with Stantec Mining, a leading design and consulting firm, where she learned invaluable mining, business, and scheduling practices.
